Termite Control
Asheville's businesses, homes, and historic buildings attract much more than tourists every year. Subterranean termites represent a greater threat to property in WNC than tornadoes, fire, and hurricanes combined. North Carolina is located in a zone with a moderate to heavy infestation rate. This means the potential for termite damage is significant. In states like ours where termites are active and widespread, it is essential to maintain an effective termite prevention and control program. Termites are not easily detected, because they come in from underground and destroy a home from the inside out. By the time evidence is seen, damage may already be done. Don't let your home become a statistic. Let an ESI trained technician find any termites inside and even around your home to protect your investment.
Liquid Treatment
Our highly trained technician will perform an inspection to identify any past or current subterranean termite infestation. Then they will create a trench in the soil around the perimeter of the structure and apply a non-repellent liquid treatment to soil. The non-repellent treatment allows foraging termites to travel through the barrier, contracting the chemical on their bodies, then returning to the colony for chemical transfer and colony elimination. An annual inspection follows for the monitoring of any new infestations that try to occur.
Baiting System
Our highly trained technician will perform an inspection to identify any past or current subterranean termite infestation. The technician will install a termite bait system. Stations will be placed at approximately 15 foot intervals. Stations are each equipped with two compressed termiticide cartridges designed to eliminate termite colonies foraging near the structure. The cartridges are monitored annually and replaced as needed.
Borate Treatments
This liquid mineral salt application is directly applied to wood components during construction. Borate treatments eliminate the need for large amounts of water typically used in soil treatments and offer a lower impact on the environment. Mineral salt does not break down over time, so it remains in the wood for the life of it, providing residual protection. Borate treatments can prevent and eliminate subterranean termites, carpenter ants, powder post beetles, and old house borers. Contact us to see if your home qualifies for a borate treatment.
